Identifying gaps in design consistency and technical alignment, I spearheaded a team-wide initiative to standardize our design system application and Figma architecture. I grounded our creative decisions in data by leveraging analytics to define device-specific standards, streamlining the hand-off process for both designers and stakeholders.

To properly define the standards for our team, I needed to ensure my complete understanding of the layered design system in place. I worked as an ambassador to the design system team to make sure that I was well informed of upcoming efforts and changes. I also had the opportunity to influence that direction by bringing use cases directly from my team to the design system forum.

In just six weeks, I transformed the Merchant Services space by replacing highly fragmented patterns with a single, unified UX approach. This shift eliminated a huge variance in our core experiences, significantly boosting team morale and reducing technical debt for our development partners.

stakeholder collab

I balanced executive accountability with hands-on mentorship, working 1-on-1 with designers to socialize and implement our new team standards. This collaborative approach replaced isolated decision-making with a unified, high-quality output that resonated across the broader design team.
